Taking the Time

I want to share a learning point with you all, in the hope it might get you to think about allowing yourself PLENTY of time on the day you have that all important interview!

Give yourself the best possible chance of being successful

This morning I attended a breakfast networking event. It was important to me to get there on time. I believed I had allowed plenty of time but it took over double the time plus had to find the right building as it was a huge site! I turned up stressed and extremely frustrated with myself for not leaving earlier. I was grateful it wasn't an interview I was heading into!

Imagine this happens to you on the day of your interview, just think about how anxious you'll feel. Try and avoid this! If you don't know the location of the company, have a trial run if possible. If not, do your research and also check travel news before and on the day. It is always better to be early than late.

If, however things outside your control mean you are delayed, always call the company to let them know and I don't mean 5 minutes before the interview! Give them as much warning as possible.

Please think about timings and make sure you give yourself the best possible chance of being successful when you go for that interview.
